On March 25th, Huangpu Customs stated that the total value of Dongguan's total foreign trade reached US $ 15.03 billion in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 37.4%.

In this period, the export value amounted to US $ 8.61, up by 28% while the import value amounted to US $ 6.42, up by 52.4%

From January to February, the value of Dongguan's general trade has reached US $ 2.03 billion, up 92.1%, while that of processing trade has stood at US $ 12.36 billion, up 31.3%, it added.

Mechanical and electrical products were the major exports, accounting for 70.5% of the total foreign trade value of Dongguan in the first two months of 2010. The trade value of mechanical and electrical products totaled US $ 6.08 billion, an increase of 27.1 % over last year.

Affected by the Spring Festival holidays, the foreign trade value in February was US $ 6.38 billion, less than that in January but also showing a year-on-year increase of 18.5%.
